Stem: twining, climbing, or creeping perennial vine, extensively branched, internodes 2 – 7 cm, cylindrical or angular, hairless
Leaves: alternate, leaf stalk 2 – 7 cm long, leaves 2 – 15 cm long, 1 – 9 cm wide, oval-triangular, base arrow-head shaped, basal lobes square or rounded, space between basal lobes V-shaped, tip acute to long-tapered, hairless, margin entire or wavy
Inflorescence: flowers solitary, axillary, numerous; flower stalks 3 – 13 cm; bracts 2, enclosing sepals, large, green, angular, hairless or with marginal hairs
Flowers: sepals 11 – 15 mm long, 4 – 6 mm wide, subequal, elliptic to oval; petals 4.5 – 6 cm long, funnel-shaped, white to pinkish; stamens 2 – 3 cm long, subequal; ovary ovoid, hairless; stigma oval or oblong
Fruits: capsule; seeds to 5 mm long, smooth, angular, black or brown
