Roots: rhizomes long
Stem: twining, climbing, or creeping perennial vine, extensively branched, internodes 2 – 7 cm, cylindrical or angular, glabrous
Leaves: alternate, petiole 2 – 7 cm long, leaves 2 – 15 cm long, 1 – 9 cm wide, ovate-triangular, base hastate to sagittate, basal lobes truncate or rounded, leaf sinus V-shaped, apex acute to acuminate, glabrous, margin entire or undulate
Inflorescence: flowers solitary, axillary, numerous; pedicels 3 – 13 cm; bracts 2, enclosing sepals, large, green, angular, glabrous or ciliate
Flowers: calyx 11 – 15 mm long, 4 – 6 mm wide, subequal, elliptic to ovate; corolla 4.5 – 6 cm long, funnelform, white to pinkish; stamens 2 – 3 cm long, subequal; ovary ovoid, glabrous; stigma oval or oblong
Fruits: capsule; seeds to 5 mm long, smooth, angular, black or brown
