Halimolobos is endangered because it is rare and somewhat regionally restricted in the province. In addition, population sizes vary. Possible threats have been identified for this species, including occurring in a fragile habitat.
 
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
 
Height: 20 – 40 cm
Roots: taproot slender
Stems: small persistent woody base; solitary, simple to sparingly branched, hairs mixed, long, branched, or straight
Leaves: basal rosette, 1 – 4 cm long, 3 – 9 mm wide, narrowly spoon-shaped to lance-shaped, hairy, margin entire to toothed; stem leaves alternate, sessile to clasping with ear-like lobes, 1 – 4 cm long, 4 – 6 mm wide, slightly reduced upwards, lance-shaped to oblong, margin toothed to entire
Inflorescence: unbranched, bracts lacking; stalks slender
Flowers: sepals purplish; petals to 4 mm long, white with pinkish veins
Fruits: silique 4 – 10 mm long, 1 – 2 mm wide, round in cross-section, purplish, hairless; seeds in two rows

Halimolobos strongly resembles Arabis. The two species differ as below. Only one species of Halimolobos occurs in Saskatchewan.
