Linanthus septentrionalis is threatened because it is rare or uncommon in Saskatchewan. It is regionally restricted in the province and population sizes vary. Possible threats have been identified for this species.
 
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
 
Height: 5 – 30 cm
Stems: annual, slender, erect, branched above the base
Leaves: opposite, palmately divided; segments 5 – 7, appearing clustered, 5 – 20 mm long, thread-like, puberulent or glabrous
Inflorescence: flowers axillary; pedicels long, spreading
Flowers: calyx tube scarious below sinuses, lobes deltoid; corolla 2 – 5 mm long, less than twice as long as calyx, funnelform, tube hairy near the insertion of the stamens, white to lavender; filaments glabrous or sparsely hairy; stigma 3-lobed
Fruits: capsule; seeds 2 or more per locule
