Marsh felwort is vulnerable because it is rare or uncommon in Saskatchewan. It occurs in two or three general regions of the province, but with few localities. Local population sizes vary. No immediate threats are known for this species.
 
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
 
Height: 1 – 35 cm
Roots: fibrous
Stems: annual, slender, simple or branched above, branches strongly ascending
Leaves: basal leaves inversely egg-shaped or spatula-shaped, soon withering; stem leaves sessile, mostly linear or oblong, purplish-green, hairless
Inflorescence: terminal, occasionally also axillary at upper nodes, heads few-flowered
Flowers: 4- or 5-merous; sepals deeply cleft, lobes narrow and equalling petals; petals 10 – 12 mm long, with a long slender tube and flat, spreading lobes, each division with a pair of scale-like appendages near base; stamens inserted at base of petals; style none; stigmas 2, on sides of ovary
Fruits: capsule cylindrical
