Height: 10 – 40 cm
Stems: caudex stout, branched, dark brown, perennial; stems tufted, erect or spreading, sparsely to densely pubescent
Leaves: mostly basal, some cauline, 5 – 10 cm long, pinnate; petioles variable
Leaflets: 5 – 7, pectinately divided; segments linear, 1 – 1.5 mm wide, strigose above, densely white tomentose below, margin revolute
Inflorescence: cyme 3 – 15-flowered, open, bracts foliaceous, branches ascending
Flowers: bractlets linear, acute, as long as calyx; flowers 6 – 10 mm broad; calyx campanulate, lobes ovate, sericeous; corolla yellow; styles filiform
Fruits: aggregate of achenes
