SPECIES DESCRIPTION

Height:

7 – 25 cm

scapose; bracts one or more, scarious, often brown

Leaves:

basal, long-petioled, blade shorter than to equalling petioles, 2 – 4 cm long, orbicular, base rounded or truncate, coriaceous, lustrous, margin nearly entire

Inflorescence:

raceme terminal

Flowers:

large; calyx lobes 3 – 4 mm long, oblong to elliptic, petaloid; corolla 5 – 10 mm long, creamy white; anthers yellow; style long, somewhat curved at maturity, ring below stigma

Fruits:

capsule dehiscent from the base upwards
