True puffballs Lycoperdales, Basidiomycetes
These do not have a stem, and usually are round to pear-shaped.
The outer peridium does not recurve to form rays like an earthstar. All true
puffballs have powdery glebas (spore masses) at maturity, which range from yellow
to black.
